What draws me to psychology is a simple but stubborn question: why do people walk such different life paths? Despite living in the same world and sharing a similar cognitive toolkit, our choices about education, career, and ambition vary enormously across individuals and cultures.

This question is the core of my research. I study the factors that shape major life decisions and specifically, why some individuals pursue STEM fields while others do not, and why these patterns shift so dramatically across the globe.
